The Keepers

As it has become more obvious to those around me that I'm simplifying my life drastically,  they've begun asking what I'm keeping rather than what I'm getting rid of.

One answer is:  The chairs Granddaddy made

Granddaddy was...special.  I don't know what else to say.  I loved him intensely then, and still miss him today.

This picture was typical.  I was sure from a very early age that Granddaddy's sole goal in life was to please me.  I have that red chair today, though it has been recovered.  It's a keeper as well.  MeMama and Granddaddy gave me the dog, Missy, when I was a baby, and she lived to be 16.  This cracks me up that Missy is jealous of all my stuffed toys and is trying to get Granddaddy's attention.
