Grayson Highlands

This was a hike I've wanted to do since I lived in Charlotte.  It's almost guaranteed to see wild horses...but apparently that is only when it is not so misty that the horses could be right next to you and you'd never know it.  It was chilly and very windy, with a heavy mist that turned to rain part of the time.  I'd intended an 8 mile hike to Mt Rogers, the highest point in Virginia, but contented myself with an hour's hike, then tried to thaw out.

Since it was game day, I wore my Auburn T-shirt and hiked the blue and orange trails.  Didn't help; Auburn lost the fourth game in a row.
